PhD Position in Landscape Architecture and Urban Ecology, Singapore

Scholarships Applications PhD project will focus on landscape architecture and urban ecology at specific locations along the watershed Ciliwung Jakarta. This study will project a large metropolitan green corridor concept consisting of both natural and designed typology of river landscapes in the southern outskirts of town. Prior to his Masters degree in architecture or landscape architecture with demonstrated experience in large-scale topology of the landscape and urban design is required.

PhD Scholarships Applications students will join a research team living in Singapore, working on a complex interdisciplinary projects at the interface of landscape and ecology and computer simulation. This position will start on 10.01.2011 or thereafter flexible.

Scholarships Applications for High School Seniors


The Scholarships Applications winners are determined by an independent judge an essay contest. This year's essay topic is: "How best to protect cities and villages of their infrastructure and still provide other needed services such as fire and emergency services in difficult economic times?"

Scholarships Applications will be awarded on the following basis:
Two (2) $ 1,000 scholarships will be awarded, one each for boys and girls the highest ranking the highest ranking of a city or village insured by Rural Mutual Insurance Company as of May 1, 2011.

Four (4) $ 1,000 scholarships will be awarded, each for two boys and two girls.

Postdoctoral Research Assistantships Scholarships Applications


This Scholarships Applications proposal is a collaboration between Professor Joyce and Dr Szendröi in Geometry Algebra, and Professor Rouquier and Dr Kremnizer in geometric representation theory.

In the areas covered by the project include:

Donaldson-Thomas theory of Calabi-Yau 3-folds and generalizations, in particular motivic invariants DT, and DT categorification theory;
relationship between representation theory and algebraic DT, through the construction type of Ringel-Hall algebra;
higher representation theory, and
mathematical definition (Super) Conformal Field Theory - vertex algebra, chiral algebra, modular functors, and so on - and connections with representation theory.

The
Scholarships Applications PDRAs will work on projects in the field of grant, under the supervision of one or more of the four investigators. They will become members of research groups and will be expected to take part in all activities, and have the interest and develop expertise in both geometry and representation theory.

The
Scholarships Applications successful candidate (s) will be expected to have a bachelor's degree in mathematics or mathematical physics, and PhD in mathematics or mathematical physics either given or submitted at the time of taking the post. The PhD must be in one large area and grants - algebraic geometry or representation theory, or mathematical physics - and the candidate must have some knowledge of some subjects that are relevant to the project to be undertaken. We are looking for candidates capable with a good publication record, judged by the stage in their careers, who will be able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
